Many of us may be believers, in the sense of adhering to a certain doctrine. We may believe that Jesus was the Son of God who died for our sins and that we are completely forgiven and justified before God because of what He did. (CRAZY deal!) He did that which was impossible on our own to do.
But when something impossible smaller than our salvation happens, like a financial need (for example), we have a hard time believing that God will pull through.
And yet, we believe that our sins are forgiven, which is a GREATER deal (like life and death deal) than where our next rent or meal may come from.
My small faith when looking at seeming impossibilities have caused me to wonder at my faith even for salvation. Do I really truly believe that when I stand before the Creator of the universe one day, He will declare me justified and righteous? If I can't believe in God for the small tangibles of this physical realm, do I truly have faith for promises guaranteed to me in the eternal realm?
James talks about faith and how faith (spiritual realm) is manifested in the natural realm. If we have faith, our deeds would show - we would feed the poor, love the needy, etc- because what is happening on the outside is a reflection of what is happening on the inside. In the same way, I think that if we have faith for impossibilities concerning the natural (healing, provision, etc), maybe we do we have faith for impossibilities concerning the spiritual (forgiveness, salvation).
What natural impossibilities do you have before you today?
May God move those mountains today, just as He moved the biggest mountain of all for you 2000 years ago.
Really good blog.
